The Rothenburger Weihnachtswerkstatt
The peaceful and romantic Tauber River Valley is the home of Käthe Wohlfahrt's Christmas Workshop, the Rothenburger Weihnachtswerkstatt. A perfect location for creative and imaginitive work. Here, the original designs are produced for the many wonderful things made by Käthe Wohlfahrt. These items are unique and one-of-a-kind. Millions of people all over the world love them. Master craftsmen and artists work hand-in-hand to give birth to a wide variety of unique decorations. They turn wood on lathes, bend materials, twist wire, fill molds... Only quality materials like glass, selected woods and fine pewter are used. The painting of the figurines and the Ensembles is
unmistakable. The richness in detail, the harmony of the colors, the individuality and the power of
expression enthuse. Real craftsmanship for people with special pretensions.

Incense Smokers "Holzknoddl"
Original Incense Smokers from the Rothenburger Weihnachtswerkstatt
Our incense smokers are created by our team of artists at the Rothenburger Weihnachtswerkstatt, the Christmas Workshop in the idyllic Tauber River Valley. It takes a long time before a figure is worthy of the title "Holzknoddl". Each detail must be right. The smallest one is barely 16 cm tall, whereas the largest stands 29 cm in height. Whatever their stature, one thing remains true for all "Holzknoddls" - each one displays a unique and appealing personality.
"Holzknoddls" represent various interests, hobbies and vocations, making them suitable for gift giving any time of year, or just one for yourself!

Schwibbogen
The name "Schwibbogen" originated from one of its architectural features, the suspension arch, which acts as a supporting arch between two walls. It is said that the miner and blacksmith, Johann Teller from Johanngeorgenstadt, created the first wrought iron Schwibbogen candleholder in 1726. Once again, it was a miner's model that was the inspiration for the design.
Pyramids
It is understandable that the Pyramid was modeled after a machine used in underground mines to convey ore, since they were invented by miners. The first movable pyramid dates back to the year 1850, often representing scenes from the lives of laborers and miners. Later, Christian themes were added. Some of these early pyramids, with three to seven tiers, are shown in the German Christmas Museum in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Pyramid propellers, moved by the rising heat of the burning candles, create a charming play of shadow and light on ceilings and walls, making them fascinating centerpieces during the holiday season.
"Holzknackl"
Original Nutcrackers from the Rothenburger Weihnachtswerkstatt
"Holzknackl" are funny and friendly Nutcrackers carefully painted with intensive colors. These worldwide unique figurines, made of real wood, are available in four different versions: "Large", "Small", "Hanging" or our "Mini Knackls". They are characterized by the filigree details,
expressiveness and the harmony of the colors. These valuable pieces are no longer used for cracking nuts. Today they are collector pieces, popular decorations and individual gift ideas.
